Our lab hosted another physical meeting about the EU funded Erasmus+ project, T4SVEN.

The T4SVEN project addresses the priority innovative practices in a digital era by developing and introducing guidelines and training for Education and Training (VET) teachers for integrating digital technologies in teaching and learning meaningfully, particularly concerning the distinctive features of VET such as work-based learning (WBL) and sector-specific skills. The meeting took place on 30th of June until 1st of July 2022 at the University of Cyprus Library at Nicosia, Cyprus.
In the meeting partners discussed about several tasks: development of the platform, finalization, translations, piloting propositions, interim results, virtual scenarios, peer evaluation. Future work was also a topic of discussion.

The intensive student training for the Erasmus+ project JobJo, continues with students from Jordan participating and attending a variety of new and useful activities on Thursday 30th of June and Friday 1st of July.Michalis Panayides gave a lecture on why LinkedIn is useful as an employability tool and how to use it in order to successfully find job opportunities.Stylianos Argyrou demonstrated a live LinkedIn account creation along with an effective way on how to write the information on each section in LinkedIn. Dr. Constantinos Tsouris gave a lecture on the process of looking for and applying for a job. Then Dr. Tsouris answered questions about detailed matters like references and cover letters.As an assignment, the students had to create individual LinkedIn accounts and prepare a skills document that highlighted how they have obtained the skills mentioned on LinkedIn and their document. The students completed and presented their assignments and projects successfully. They have also answered a questionnaire about their experience with this session.

Our lab hosted another physical meeting about the EU funded Erasmus+ project, DIG-IT.

DIG-IT provides solutions to address the imbalance and inequity of digital education opportunities offered at EU universities. The meeting took place on 5^th-6^th of May in 2022 at the University of Cyprus Library at Nicosia, Cyprus. Partners discussed the last developments on the project and agreed on future work. During the meeting, videos that will be used in the project were recorded.

BEE-IN project partnership made a desk research on the issues and needs the bee-keepers are facing as well as their expectations, from one side, but also, the challenges in the VET system, and then developed the BEE-IN project idea of introducing digitalization in apiculture and VET.

The first challenge of BEE-IN project is to boost knowledge and technology transfer in the apiculture sector. The possibility to increase the level of information available to apiculture practitioners about new technologies and training is directly linked to sectorial investments, economic and environmental efficiency and sustainability, food healthiness and safety as well as the ability to compete in the international market area.

On 21st and 22nd of May 2022, we had the first Transnational Project Meeting in Limnos Greece, where all the partners shared their ideas for the project and how it will be developed.

The intensive student training for the Erasmus+ project JobJo, continues with the 15 students from Jordan participating and attending a variety of interesting activities on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th of June.
Dr. Constantinos Tsouris gave a lecture about how we will Build a paper CV for employment and postgraduate studies. After Dr. Tsouris, Marios Kyprianou show a CV template from Microsoft word to the students and explain how to use them to create their own cvs.
Last Constantinos Xenofontos show some usefull things from Microsoft Excel to students.
As an assignment, the students had to create their own cvs throught Microsoft Word template and to resolve an exercise with basics of Excel.
The students completed and presented their assignments and projects successfully. The two-day session was completed with the Certificates that were given to all participants.

Re-Think/Re-Act is an ERASMUS+ funded project that has as main goal to provide a global model of attention to students that allows them to develop the soft skills necessary to improve their well-being, facilitate their personal growth and avoid early school dropout thanks to the discovery of their own talents.

On 7th of April 2022, we had the first Transnational Project Meeting in Cordoba, where all the partners shared their vision on the project and how it will be developed.

CiSTEM², aims to immerse student STEM teachers in interdisciplinary cooperation, problem solving, and creative inquiry and design via online and blended learning opportunities. 

On 14/06/22-16/06/22 we had the pleasure of hosting the training for the platform we developed for the project.

We presented and got familiar with the platform the first day and for the next days we had a very interesting workshop where all the partners had the chance to work together on a real life scenario and watching the platform come to life.

It was three hard working days but for sure they paid off!

The intensive student training for the Erasmus+ project JobJo, continues with the 15 students from Jordan participating and attending a variety of interesting activities. On Friday the students got to visit the UCY Recording Studio and the team of experts there explained to them the procedure for recording videos: where to stand, how cameras and microphones work, where they can read their words from, and so on. They also attended two very interesting lectures by Dr Constantinos Tsouris and Aggeliki Tziongkourou. All the above in the preparation for creating their own video CVs, presenting themselves. On Monday the students visited again the recording studio, where they recorded their individual videos.

In June 2022, the AAL Project GUIDed consortium met in Oslo for the first face-to-face meeting after months of video calls. The team discussed the progress of the project, reviewed the work done and planned the next moves forward towards the finalization of the project

On June 21st-22nd our lab participated in the final TPM meeting of the Erasmus+ project, TOOLS. The meeting took place in Opole, Poland. Partners discussed about the last tasks needed to be completed by the end of project.

Feelings were mixed from the whole consortium as we come to the end of a successful and such a good collaboration, resulting in a complete and accurate project.

SEIT, UCY is hosting a two week intensive student training for the project JobJo. 15 students from Universities from Jordan are visiting and following the training.
In the first two days (22&23 of June), Dr. Thomas Fotiades gave a lecture about Useful Digital Tools. He explained how to create a google form, its usefulness, as well as ways and aims of creating a survey evaluation, and how to analyse the collected results.
Evangelia Vanezi gave a lecture about Secure web browsing and Privacy. She presented a brief summary of the main dangers when browsing the web or communicating via emails and then concentrated on the Phishing attack. A case study of such an attack was demonstrated in the lecture. Privacy was discussed through the provisions and rights of the GDPR.
As an assignment, the students had to create a google form survey, gather some data and present them, as well as investigate and present a phishing attack case study.

The students completed and presented their assignments and projects successfully. The two-day session was completed with the Certificates that were given to all participants.

On 10th of June 2022, another transnational meeting of the KA2 “Different approaches, one common goal” project was held in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Consortium discussed in detail all project results progress and that should be achieved in the framework of KA2_DACG, planning carefully all project next steps. Plans to be published soon on the projects’ website, https://ka2-dacg.eu/

SEIT Research Laboratory (Software Engineering and Internet Technologies Laboratory) of the Computer Science department of the University of Cyprus participates in the Digi-Sporting project, started in September 2019, with a duration of 30 months.

Digi-Sporting funded through the Erasmus + KA203 – Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Call 2019, aims to develop a guide of good practices for the effective incorporation of technology in sports clubs and academies, as well as the creation of a competitive profile of Sports Technologist and a postgraduate training package. The project code is 2019-1-ES01-KA203-06550

What is DIGI-SPORTING general aim?

Creating, developing and transferring the professional profile of technologist-analyst (postgraduate training – higher degree) in the field of sports sciences with the aim that sport academies and clubs can fully explore the opportunities offered by digital transformation.

What are DIGI-SPORTING specific aims?

• Address the need to break the barriers of fear of technology and the change that the introduction of new IT tools may imply.
• Expand the training offer in technological skills in the world of sports, for personal and professional performance, tackling skills gaps and mismatches to avoid wasting much of the potential and possibilities offered by the digital transformation.
• Create educational contents, by promoting interdisciplinary cooperation in technology and sports science, that can be adapted to different job positions, so that everyone learns what their professional profiles need, in order to foster employability.

The consortium for this project is made up of nine organizations that will ensure the quality of the project in all its phases, assuming roles in the analysis of the environment, fieldwork, training, technological development or dissemination of the activities.
