SEIT Research Laboratory (Software Engineering and Internet Technologies Laboratory) of the Computer Science department of the University of Cyprus participates in the Digi-Sporting project, started in September 2019, with a duration of 30 months.
Digi-Sporting funded through the Erasmus + KA203 – Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Call 2019, aims to develop a guide of good practices for the effective incorporation of technology in sports clubs and academies, as well as the creation of a competitive profile of Sports Technologist and a postgraduate training package. What is DIGI-SPORTING general aim?
Creating, developing and transferring the professional profile of technologist-analyst (postgraduate training â higher degree) in the field of sports sciences with the aim that sport academies and clubs can fully explore the opportunities offered by digital transformation.
What are DIGI-SPORTING specific aims?
- Address the need to break the barriers of fear of technology and the change that the introduction of new IT tools may imply.
- Expand the training offer in technological skills in the world of sports, for personal and professional performance, tackling skills gaps and mismatches to avoid wasting much of the potential and possibilities offered by the digital transformation.
- Create educational contents, by promoting interdisciplinary cooperation in technology and sports science, that can be adapted to different job positions, so that everyone learns what their professional profiles need, in order to foster employability.
The consortium for this project is made up of nine organizations that will ensure the quality of the project in all its phases, assuming roles in the analysis of the environment, fieldwork, training, technological development or dissemination of the activities.
