Research position openings at the University of Cyprus

The Department of Computer Science, University of Cyprus accepts applications for Research Associate and Scientific Staff positions in the scope of:

SERVICE ORIENTED COMPUTING  & TELEMONITORING AND REMOTE COMMUNICATION  SYSTEMS

These positions involve conducting research, development and integration, as well as exploring new markets and business opportunities, in the context of projects funded by the European Commission (FP7 ICT and AAL).

We seek individuals with a strong research commitment, advanced exposure to programming systems (especially Java), an interest to pursue post-graduate or post-doctoral studies in the University of Cyprus, and  expertise/exposure in one of the following areas:
- Middleware Systems
- Internet Technology
- Service-Oriented Computing
- Parallel and Distributed Systems

Knowledge of the Greek language, although considered a practical  advantage, is by no means a requirement. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Available positions include:
- Senior Research Associates (a Ph.D. degree is required)
- Research Associates (a M.Sc. degree is required)
- Special Scientists (a B.Sc. degree is required)

The positions are available for the period 1/1/2011 until 31/12/2011 with the possibility of 1 year renewal.

The annual salary is in the order of EUR 12,000 - 30,000, depending on qualifications and prior experience. Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus.
