The European project CodeCivics – āCoding Better Communitiesā, held its Kick-Off Translational Project Meeting, with the physical presence of the partners on the 11th and 12th of May, 2024 in North Macedonia, Greece.
The aims of the project CodeCivics are:
1.ā ā Develop a methodology for using coding and computational thinking in youth work.
2.ā ā Provide resources and training for youth workers to teach coding in non-formal settings.
3.ā ā Offer practical opportunities for youth to gain digital skills and engage in civic projects.
It was a very productive Kick-Off meeting for the #ErasmusPlus #CODECIVICS project.

– Explored best practices and new use cases.
– Took a tour of the stunning Kaunas Campus & Library.
– Delved into the current status of our Knowledge Platform and Business Intelligence Toolkit.
– Planned our next steps for Teaching & Training Materials, Dissemination, and the Project Website.
It was an inspiring event filled with productive discussions and new collaborations!

The project aims at reaching the main result:
The platformās target audience includes Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), their administration, faculty, students/graduates, and employers in the HTI sector, both within the consortiumās countries and beyond. It emphasizes transferability, intending to be an open resource of knowledge and a user-friendly platform. The development and publications will be shared openly, and stakeholders are encouraged to join. The innovation lies in supporting online communication, cooperation, and learning within the hospitality and tourism industry (HTI) sector, creating strategic alliances with HEIs in the field. The platformās functionalities include involving employers in online research and curriculum development, engaging employers in curriculum delivery, offering digital learning and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities, facilitating online research and product development, serving as an online social network, aiding industry placement programs, and assisting in recruitment, screening, and interviewing of candidates. The platformās impact is expected to benefit the mentioned target groups and the HTI sector as a whole.
