Signing Ceremony for the Technology and Academic Collaboration between the University of Cyprus (Computer Science Department) and Cyta

The Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus (www.cs.ucy.ac.cy) announces the signing of the Agreement of Understanding for technology and academic cooperation between the Department and CYTA. The Agreement signed on 4 October 2013 at the University of Cyprus premises by Professor Marios D. Dikaiakos, Chairman of the Computer Science Department, and Mr. Michalis Papadopoulos, Director of Innovation and Development Services, Cyta.

The Agreement follows the strategy of the CS department in order to: a) promote cooperation and dialogue with innovative companies in Cyprus and abroad in education, research, innovation and knowledge transfer in Computer Science and Telecommunications, b ) link the students of the CS Department to the labor market and c) exchange of expertise and experience between the University and innovative high-tech companies .

The deal also contributes to the emergence of Innovation and Business Enlargement as a pillar that serves the Corporate Strategy of Cyta and provides an important step towards the evolution of a strategic cooperation between Cyta and the University of Cyprus.

It is beyond any doubt that the agreement provides opportunities for joint action on issues such as Student Internships, Dissertation Development, Research, Development and Innovation. The agreement creates significant opportunities for further training of the CS Department students.
