Summer internship at the University of Oxford
Are you interested in doing an internship in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford this summer
We are looking for an enthusiastic student of computer science or bioinformatics who is interested in a scientific career and would like to start early with shaping his or her CV.
The offer is for a 12 week summer internship in Oxford, at the time of your choice, but within this calendar year. At Oxford University, you will be working in the Computational Biology Group, with Dr. Jonathan Cooper:http://www.cs.ox.ac.uk/people/jonathan.cooper/
We seek a Java programmer who is familiar with web technologies and will build a web interface for the simulation of computational models of biological systems. While the necessary simulation tool and databases are already in place, an existing prototypic interface must be enhanced and extended.
The successful applicant to this internship will fulfil the following requirements:
• good knowledge of Java
• good knowledge of web technologies (Apache Tomcat, Google Web Toolkit, jQuery)
• good level English language
• basic knowledge of computer simulation
• basic knowledge of XML technologies
• creative and independent worker with an interest in research

The internship pays a stipend of £300 per week and is full-time (37.5 hours per week). At the end, the intern will be expected to prepare a short synopsis of the work they undertook, and any additional benefits their internship provided.
